Cool 3D demo reel from Hype Studio based in Porto Alegre (Brazil)! They created this demo reel in 2009 to showcase their 3d and animation skills. The showreel is quite dynamique and the music entertaining. Hype Studio seems to specialise in Architectural 3D and animation and acquired a strong reputation in the architecture photorealistic domain throughout the years since its creation in 2004.
Welcome to Matt Hoyle’s strangly wonderful photographic world. Matt, who’s based in Los Angeles, excels in photography and even more in image retouching which sometimes includes creating 3d environments to bring the initial photos and subjects to life. His Fairy Tales series is quite stunning and unusual as you feel straight away the amount of CGI and image retouching involved but it doesn’t detract from the composition’s quality; it actually enhances it! I also had a “coup de coeur” for his Vintage Boxers. Matt’s client list is also quite remarkable as it includes Saatchi & Saatchi, Discovery Channel, Rolling Stone, Esquire… He also photographed for massive companies like Fed Ex, Mini Cooper, Visa, Epson…

Sweden based graphic designer Diftype aka Niklas Lundberg’s portfolio is full of really cool designs, posters and adverts for clients like Nissan or CD covers for various bands. His style is really modern, well executed and full of details! The most striking point about Diftype is the fact he’s completely self-taught! To reach such a level there is no doubt he must have a real and strong passion for art and design!
Some excellent illustrations by Philippe and Rodrigo from Brasil. Their Flickr page is in Spanish so I can’t really say what they studied or what they like… I just know I like some of their illustrations and also the fact they like the artwork of Alberto Cerriteno.
Excellent 2D animation by French artist Renaud Hallée. The animation is called Sonar and starts with the simple sound of a sonar and its visual representation. The sound is then slowly decomposed in multitudes of notes and geometric shapes to create a brilliantly simple and effective animation. The sequence has been officialy selected for Annecy’s Animation Festival.
Excellent little game for designers and anyone loving typography. It’s called The Font Game and it’s available here and you can buy the app for your iPhone and try to beat typo maniacs best scores! I’m addicted already and have spent hours on it! Just need an iPhone now…
I already loved Sebastien Tellier for his famous song “La Ritournelle” and I now love this song called “Look” and also the animation it created by Mrzyk & Moriceau.
