Some excellent pieces of graphic design but also web design by Belgian designer Peter Eeckelaert aka Nitras. I’ve never been a big fan of full Flash websites (especially in the recent years) but this one is actually quite easy to navigate and without too much animation or distraction going around at the same time (except the music). Nitras‘ graphic designs are modern, maybe a tad fashionable but the result is always nicely laid out and well balanced. Even though the tones are often cold, the shapes used always bring some dynamique in the composition.

Gwen Vanhee aka Revoid
Back in March, at the start of HautStyle as a design blog, was mentioned a Belgian artist called Revoid aka Gwen Vanhee. Today, after random clicks, browsing and reading I found these awesome videos/animations realised by this same Revoid. These animations are made using Flash and AS3, saved frame by frame as an image then imported into Premiere. The colours and the textures created in these interactive mark making animations are wonderful.
Summer Holidays

Some of you might have noticed this blog has been a bit quiet last week… It’s because I was on holidays and I really did enjoy it, almost no computers for a full week, resting my eyes to natural landscapes or architectural pieces, learning about how Champagne is made (and tasting it) and practicing photography…
Above is a selection of some photographs I’ve taken during these holidays starting by a sky reflection on a roof window, then a night shot in Dinant (Belgium), followed by a few photographs in the Champagne region: Reims cathedral ceilings, a close up on vine, one of many Moet & Chandon vineyards. After that is a shot of the latest Moet & Chandon bottle I took whilst visiting their house’s caves followed by one of the most famous and probably one of the most expensive Champagne in the world: Dom Perignon. Having tasted a bit too much Champagne it was time to move towards La croix de Lorraine and finaly take a photograph one of my favourite place on Earth that my girlfriend nicely calls “The Paradise”. It’s a little nowhere in Les Vosges (France) called Le Molieu…
I know these photographs are simply holiday photographs but I tried hard to make them look as professional as possible and I would really appreciate any feedback, advice or tips on ways to improve…
