Superb photographs and an excellent series of long exposure photography shots in NY, Cape Town… by Dusseldorf (Germany) based photographer Jakob Wagner. His long exposure shots are fantastic and the lense motion is well controlled giving in his photographs this cool zoom-in aspect without ruining the crisp details. There are a few photographs towards the end of another long exposure series on Jakob’s behance page that is simply impressive. The control of the motion mixed with the long exposure creates crazy and almost unreal contemporary urban impressions by night.

Alexi Lubomirski - Photography
Alexi Lubomirski is an amazing photographer who was born in England, studied in Brighton (UK), travelled the world from a very young age and is now living in New York since 2005. Alexi is working mainly for editorials and magazines like GQ, Dior, H&M magazine, Bazaar, Vogue… He also has the luck (or maybe not!) to shoot famous people, actresses and models like “Bill’s killer” Emma Thurman, “lost in Tokyo” Scarlett Johanson, “gold robber” Charlize Theron, “fighting for her love” Cheryl Cole, or “spicy singer” Victoria Beckham. The list of stars and magazines is simply endless. His WHOLE portfolio is worth a look! The photos above from the series “Roses” are stunning…
Nienke Klunder - Photography
Excellent series of photographs by Nienke Klunder. Her theme throughout her series “community” is about the perception of the self and our own identities. It portrays the same woman with different make-up styles, haircuts, clothes and body languages, showcasing how one single person can be seen and “categorised” simply based on appearance.
Elena Kalis - Photography
Sublime underwater photography by Elena Kalis aka Sugarock who lives in the Bahamas. Elena must enjoy water a lot considering the amount of stunning underwater photographs her portfolio is made of. Her series Alice in Waterland is simply incredible! It looks like she’s in total control of the water movements and all its colour reflections… It’s very, very impressive! Elena also has a website specifically dedicated to underwater photography where you can view a massive selection of her underwater works. Some shots can’t help remind me of Valerie Morignat’s photos mentioned on HautStyle just over a year ago.
Craig Mcdean - Photography
Superb photographs by British fashion photographer Craig Mcdean now living and working in New York. The contrast between the dresses and the dark atmosphere brought with the blood and the models expression is quite remarkable… Found via Fashion gone rogue.
Christian Schmidt - Photography
Another astonishing photographer I struggle to select only a few photographs to show here! Christian Schmidt is a really talented German freelance photographer based in Stuttgart. I would love to say Christian specialises in landscape, automotive or anything else for that matter… The fact is, he’s not specialising in anything except producing incredibly good photographs whatever the subject… His portfolio is simply wonderful with photographs of amazing quality for prestigious clients such as Audi, Hewlett Packard, Lexus, Renault, Kodak and Canon. I suppose when you’re a photographer and you work for Kodak and Canon it shows how much professionalism and talent you have!
Andrew Brooks - Photography
Superb photographs by Andrew Brooks, a photographer and digital artist based in Manchester (UK). Andrew seems to specialise in landscape photography and long exposure photography although his portfolio showcases a wider variety of work. As well as shooting, he also does the image retouching and manipulation on all his photographs. If you are a TV addict and you visit Andrew’s portfolio, a photograph may catch your attention…
Bruno Fabbris - Photography
Bruno Fabbris is a French photographer based in Paris who seems to specialise in portrait and fashion photography. His website might not be up to date in terms of design but his actual photography work is surely worth a look… The image quality on his series “Vaporescentes” is not quite there on the website but I would love to see the actual shots as they all seem fantastic with the lighting, the dust, the fabric… Bruno’s archives and artbook are really pleasing to look at too and so is his advertising work for Chanel, Vichy or L’Oreal… Bruno also worked with big names in the cosmetics and fashion industry such as Glamour, Marie-Claire, Vogue, Maybeline….
Miloslav Druckmuller - Photography
Absolutely breathtaking photographs of total solar eclipses and other astrophotographs by professor and photographer Miloslav Druckmüller. It’s crazy to see what designers and artists can do with their brain, their ideas, techniques and modern technologies… And it’s even crazier sometimes to step back and actually look at the natural effects and beauty surrounding us! Although the phenomenons exposed above are real, the actual photographs are sometimes a mixed of many photos layered together using a specifically tailored software. This is especially the case for the Total Solar Eclipse photographs where the contrast is so high that the eclipse would simply appear as black disk and a white background.
Pawel Piatek - Photography
Nice and intriguing photographs by Pawel Piatek, professional photographer based in London. I particularly enjoyed his “Florence” section which is mainly presented here. It’s quite dark and cold but the grain is captivating even though it’s probably madly photoshoped up…
