Interesting showreel by Eric Toubal who studied at the famous Supinfocom school of design specialising in special effects, animation and 2D-3D. Eric worked on a few special effects on Babylon AD by Mathieu Kassovitz whilst working for BUF (Famous special effects company that worked on Batman, Matrix, Avatar, Orangina adverts…) The second animation is a short movie he worked on with 3 others for their final project at Supinfocom. They won a few student prizes for it! Cool skills!

After last June Hey You, Pony Pony Run Run comes back with a new really cool videoclip. This time for a song called Walking on a line realised by 29 years old Romain Chassaing who currently lives in Paris. This video reminds me of some pieces of work by genius Michel Gondry who realised various music video clips for big names like Bjork, Kylie Minogue and most recently some amazing films like Be Kind Rewind and one of my favourite films of all time The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind…

Excellent graphic design, 3D and video creations by Icecream Xtruder aka ICX who used to be part of the ToastConcept for those who’ve heard about it. I’ve been really struggling to select only a few samples as every single graphic on ICX’s website is TDF… For the little story, I’ve been chatting recently with ICX and he explained to me the origins of the name Icecream Xtruder. It comes from a French play on word I scream/icecream and extruder because everything ICX touches finishes extruded with 3D software. His graphic design and motion graphics sections are well worth a look… Stunning!!!
Excellent skills by the members of Ill-studio, a French group of collaborators devoted to design and arts. Ill Studio regroups 10 different people with their own specific skills ranging from graphic design, photography and typography to illustration, video… Their aim is to contribute and stimulate each other to provide high end projects. It seems to work well!!
Absolutely amazing illustrations and other graphic designs by Paris based freelance graphic designer Niark1. Niark1’s illustrations are really heavy in colours with also a fair amount of street art and graf style to it. His website is full of stunning artworks… But that’s not it, he also has a blog where he puts all his latest work and work in progress which is an absolute gold mine… From skateboard to art toys, paintings to magazines, flyers to logos Niark1’s is EVERYWHERE… With so much talent there is no ambiguity to appreciate why Niark1 has such a big client list including Pictoplasma, Eastpak, SFR, Artoyz, Goeland, Levi’s….
Feminine, modern and colourful illustrations by French artist Sophie Griotto aka Griotte currently living in Paris. Her favourite theme is women and their modern life style in the city. Her website is really nice and welcoming, the navigation is a bit old school and a tad annoying in my view but this aspect is well over compensated by the quality of her illustrations. If you enjoy Sophie’s work and you would like to get yourself a little artistic treat, some of her pieces are available for sale on Amkashop under the artist name Griotte.
