A font maker app that seems like good fun for the lucky owners of an iPad… You can create your own hand typeface simply by using the touch interface. But that’s not it, you can actually create a proper font as TTF and use it in all your applications and even in your website as a web font! Sounds cool! Just need the iPad now… For more info visit iFont Maker.

Sean Freeman - Design
About a year ago I showcased the sublime work of UK based designer Sean Freeman. Randomly this week I found some of Sean’s recent designs and was amazed by his improvment! I didn’t think it would be possible to improve because he had such incredible skills already; but he managed it! The selection above is just a sample of his work showing how much details and efforts he can put in his creations. Sean Freeman really has an eye for typography, movement, and his constant search for perfection makes him a target of choice for big companies like Nike, The Guardian, The New York Times and many more to hire his services… For more examples of Sean’s work please visit his website thereis.co.uk.
Si Scott Design
Absolutely amazing, detailed, delicate and intricate illustrations by Manchester based illustrator and designer Si Scott. His work around typography is absolutely stunning! All the decorative curves and swirls somehow reminds me of tribal tattoo but with an extra level of control and finesse to insert them seamlessly in typographic elements. Outstanding!
Ebon Heath - Graphic design
Superb graphic design and typography work by Ebon Heath. The Stereo.type series is simply splendid, it includes really nice photographs of typographic jewelry, typographic posters and other installations!! All the letters are either hand cutted by Ebon Heath or laser cutted. Absolutely superb work! But horrible website to navigate, I mean really horrible… Photography by Mike Redfern.
Pomme Chan - Illustration - Typography
Superb illustrations by Pomme Chan aka Pomme Pomme originally from Bangkok but now living and working in London. Her illustrations are really fluid, organic and a good mix of different techniques from watercolour to vector graphics through acrylic paintings or pencil drawings. Not really surprising with such a unique style and varied skills to see Pomme Pomme having worked for GQ, La Perla, Southern Comfort, The Guardian, Nike…
Ill Studio - Graphic Design
Excellent skills by the members of Ill-studio, a French group of collaborators devoted to design and arts. Ill Studio regroups 10 different people with their own specific skills ranging from graphic design, photography and typography to illustration, video… Their aim is to contribute and stimulate each other to provide high end projects. It seems to work well!!
Seb Lester - Typography

I wrote at the beginning of the month a post about Alison Carmichael and one of the poster she is selling on her website. In this post was also mentioned a similar work of another UK illustrator: Seb Lester. Well, that’s a sample of his work! Seb Lester is a London based graphic designer with a good deal of skills in typography and calligraphy and a strong passion for lettering. He’s been working on letterings for GQ Magazine, The New York Times and has been featured in different specialist mags like Computer Arts and Creative Review… I’m a bit gutted because Sebastian had an exhibition in Electrik Sheep (Newcastle art gallery) end of July and I didn’t go…
